Welcome to Lochinver!
Lochinver is the largest town north of Ullapool on the magical west coast of Sutherland, in the north west of Scotland.
It is perfectly placed for exploring some of the most spectacular scenery in the British Isles, and was featured in Oscar Marzaroli’s 1973 documentary ‘The Highlands and Islands:  A Royal Tour’.  The iconic Suilven and world famous Stac Pollaidh mountains are closeby, so too is Ben More Assynt, one of the most northerly of the Munros.  Canisp, Conival and Quinag are just some of the other celebrities of the hillwalking world which are right on the doorstep of Lochinver.
The area also offers wonderful opportunities to explore local wildlife.  From golden eagles and mountain hares to dolphins and even the occasional whale, Lochinver is at the heart of an area with a rich and diverse array of wildlife.  So too is Lochinver a paradise for fishing, with salmon and wild brown trout prolific in nearby rivers and lochs, and sea anglers will find the coast around Lochinver to afford one of the most rewarding offshore fishing opportunities in the British Isles.
For those looking simply to escape from the city, what better a place to relax than the charming, peaceful town of Lochinver, in one of the UK’s most spectacular areas?

Assynt is home to some of the UK's most spectacular and awe-inspiring scenery. Contrary to expectations, much of the area is flat, but it has some very sharp and prominent mountains jutting out of the land like great teeth, making for some breathtaking panoramas.

Wild brown trout thrive in the many freshwater lochs in the Assynt region. The River Inver and the River Kirkaig hold both sea trout and salmon..
